Four heavy maintenance centers for Hillsborough County are under construction or near completion, consisting of 25-30 acres of sitework, Core Buildings at 42,000 SF, and Fleet Maintenance Buildings at 11,250 SF. All buildings are rated to 170-mph windload, or able to withstand a Category-5 hurricane. They serve as hub for Hillsborough County’s emergency preparedness and fleet maintenance operations. Major features include fleet maintenance bays for emergency vehicles, fueling apparatus, extensive parking, major utility work, outdoor storage, and canopies. Two of the projects feature significant road widening. All are being completed under 14-month schedules, with contract values ranging from $13,000,000 to $20,000,000 each.
